WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO
Oak Leaf Church Canton exists to lead people from where they are to where God wants them to be. That is our mission.
It means inspiring people to take the steps towards the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, connecting people into genuine relationships that promote love and encouragement, and moving people from uncertainty to unmeasurable hope and happiness.
As a church, we want to prove there is no greater reward in life than loving God and then loving others. We want to go out into our city and compel them to Jesus by the way we live. We want to show that church is less about what happens inside a building and more how we serve and honor each other on a daily basis. We want to be a church that is so committed to growing our faith we are able to help others grow in theirs no matter who they are or what they’ve done.
CORE VALUES
EXCELLENCE WITHOUT EXTRAVAGANCE – We choose to be good stewards of all God has provided but place an unmeasurable value on creating contagious environments that celebrate Jesus and are attractive to people of all walks of life (Colossians 3:23-24, Proverbs 15:17, Revelation 4:11) . – (worship)
CULTIVATE COMMUNITY – We connect people to God and each other through personal relationships, group interactions, and serving opportunities both inside and outside the church for the express purpose of building a family-like atmosphere (Psalm 22:22, Acts 2:42, 1 John 1:7, Ephesians 4:1-7). – (fellowship)
GENERATE GENEROSITY – We challenge each other to trust God first with all physical and fiscal resources to experience the reward and blessing promised from full-blown generosity. (Matthew 6:19-21, Ephesians 4:28, Proverbs 3:9-10). – (ministry)
PRAY WITH PURPOSE – We concede no decision, action, or opportunity can be successful without constant and specific prayer (Luke 10:2, Matthew 6:6-13, John 14:13-14, Ephesians 6:11-18, Philippians 4:6). – (mission)
INTENTIONALLY DEVELOP INDIVIDUALS – We commit to see the potential in everyone to become a leader and disciple-maker by pouring an abundant amount of time, energy, and resources into the lives of anyone who wishes to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19-20, 2 Peter 3:18, Ephesians 4:11-16) – (discipleship)
